The Right Attitude...

by Sharon Gayle June 6, 2010

I would like to give a nod of respect to Denise John-Baptiste for stepping on, and off stage, with the right attitude!

I met Denise briefly at the NPC - Steve Stone Metropolitan, April 3 2010, where she told me that she was planning to compete for the first time at the upcoming NPC - Atlantic States, June 5, 2010.  Denise was at the Metropolitan to see first hand how competitions are structured and presented, in addition to the caliber of athletes she would be up against in her Figure debut.  Very smart move!

Fast forward to the June 5, 2010 NPC - Bev Francis Atlantic States Bodybuilding, Figure, & Fitness Championships. Denise came out to compete as planned and looked great doing it! The competition was stiff as the Atlantic States is one of the biggest NPC competitions of the year, pulling in hundreds of amateur bodybuilders, fitness, and figure competitors combined, all vying for center stage, 1st Place.

After the Pre-judging segment, exhausted but vibrant, Denise and I talked as she ate a small meal.  She talked about “feeling good during her time on stage and not being nervous”.…~SG.  Read entire story in GayleFORCE Fitness Newsletter, July 4th Issue
